Our last trip on trusty Cortez. With variable winds, we cross the Hauraki Gulf, from Great Barrier Island, past Coromandel, and on to the mainland – an 11-hour journey. We delay at Channel Island to let Rendt go skin diving in the swells rolling up the Coleville Channel. When we reach Motuihe Island, we anchor overnight, and the next morning enter Auckland Harbour to berth at Westhaven Marina. Only 3 weeks to go before we fly to Mexico!
